ANNE SZYMANSKIFROM: West Jordan, Utah
DESIRED CAREER FOCUS: Commercial & Residential CERTIFICATIONS: LEED Green Associate Anne found her love of design when she was just a little girl, attending the parade of home shows in Salt Lake City with her dad. It became a tradition to go every summer and one that they still hold today. Her love of the craft grew deeper as she learned how much of an impact design has on human well-being. Now her goals include designing spaces to empower people, invoke positive change, and bring people peace of mind. Anne is inspired by the natural landscape that surrounds a project and brings in elements to each design that nods to that. Her favorite aspect of design is light, whether that be natural or artificial, she believes light is one of the biggest impacts on how a space can make someone feel. Her dream is to design custom homes one day. Anne also loves to travel and hopes that her design career will allow her to make connections around the world.

I want to talk to you about the subject of plans…life plans and how we all make them, and how we hope that our kids make good, smart, safe plans of their own. But if we’re really honest with ourselves, most of our plans don’t work out as we’d hoped. So instead of asking our young people, ‘What are your plans? What do you plan to do with your life?’, maybe we should tell them this: Plan… to be surprised.”
