Modern decoration, if it is sincere, doesn’t call for the sweeping away of familiar things or condemn to death everything associated with the past. Instead, it endeavors to reconcile the old with the new.”

BOPEI HOTEL
BOPEI Hotel is in Orlando, Florida near Disneyworld. The hotel is vibrant and colorful and is made up of family suites to suit the needs of people visiting Disneyworld and Universal Studios. It features a cafe space and an outdoor pool area.
LIATRIS BAKERY
Located in the BOPEI Hotel, Liatris is a bakery inspired by the Streamline Moderne movement, Alexander Girard, and Charley Harper’s art. It utilizes the branding colors orange and blue. Acoustics and tall ceilings were a major concern, and to counteract that acoustical ceiling baffles were used. True to the Streamline Moderne movement, the space uses sleekness and simple lines. Curved arches and furniture were used to keep the rounded, sleek corners of the movement. The graphics in the branding and wallcoverings take inspiration from Alexander Girard and Charley Harper with their geometric style, bold colors, and use of positive and negative space.
AMASI IMPORTED CHOCOLATES
Amasi Imported Chocolates is a tenant improvement project located in Logan, Utah on historic Center Street. The space is a long and narrow area and considerations were made to not make the space feel as such. The space is broken up into three areas (front, reception/register, and merchandise/storage) with walls running horizontally. Color plays a role in breaking up the different spaces by utilizing neutral purple and off-white. Amasi Imported Chocolates is a luxury brand and the space reflects that. The project was inspired by traditional style, lavender, luxury jewelry stores, and mosaic tiles. Painting all the walls, moldings, and ceilings the same color offers a more modern approach to the traditional style. Lavender is seen throughout the design with a neutral purple, custom floor tile, and stone selection. Custom display cases were created to emulate the jewelry store feeling while fitting the needs of the client.
